FUNCTIONAL INFLAMMOLOGY PROTOCOL: The structured clinical protocol first developed and published in 2012 by Dr Alex Vasquez; the goal of the protocol is to organize the most important and most common clinical considerations into an easily memorable acronym and manageable algorithm/heuristic for the treatment of the most common clinical conditions seen in primary care and specialty practice, including: viral infections, dysbiosis, hypertension, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, fibromyalgia, psoriasis, vasculitis and other inflammatory/autoimmune/rheumatic conditions that generally remain “medical mysteries” when viewed through the pharmacomyopic lens. Dr Vasquez has been writing articles, books, and providing post-graduate education in nutrition and functional medicine since 2003; for an early sample see “Web-like interconnections of physiological factors” published in Integrative Medicine 2006. You can also see a graphic representation of these concepts on the book cover of Inflammation Mastery / Textbook of Clinical Nutrition and Functional Medicine.
